Another year has passed by and like always, we find ourselves at the threshold of new opportunities. A New year of new possibilities awaits us and in this year let me wish you what every Hindu wishes when he does the daily ritual of Sandhyavandanam*
Pasyema Saradassatam
Jeevema Saradassatam,
Nandaama Saradassatam,
Modama Saradassatam,
Bhavama Saradassatam
Srunavama Saradassatam,
Prabravama Saradassatam
Ajeetasyama Saradassatam,
Jyokcha Suryam drise.// ( From Suryaupasthanam : Sandhyavandanam)
Which when roughly translated would mean :
By the grace of the ever shining Sun, the celestial Orb of knowledge and Truth, The ever present witness of all our actions,
May We All See a Hundred Years
May We All Live for a Hundred Years
May All Our Good Relations last a Hundred Years
May We All have Happiness for a Hundred Years
May We All Shine in our Fame for a Hundred Years
May We All Hear Pleasant Things for a Hundred Years
May We All Speak Pleasant Things for a Hundred Years
May We All Remain Undefeated for a Hundred Years
Thus May The Sun Bless Us for a Long Time.
* (Practice of prostrating to Sun at 3 times a day - The Morning -Pratha Sandhya, The Noon - Madhyahna Sandhya and the Evenining -Sayam Sandhya)
